On June 8, 2008, during the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, the 2008 Zhongzhao Lighting Awards were presented. The event was hosted by the China Lighting Society, co-organized by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co., Ltd. and hosted by Guangzhou Yangon Culture Co., Ltd., and held at Shangri-La Hotel. A total of 39 engineering lighting case projects were awarded trophies.
At the 2008 Zhongzhao Lighting Awards, the relevant leaders of the China Lighting Society became the focus. Gan Ziguang, former chairman of the China Lighting Society and now honorary chairman, attended the awards ceremony and took the stage to award the trophy and certificate to the first prize winner.
