In addition, the reflectivity of EMC, PPA, and SMC package materials was compared. The initial reflectances of these three materials were 90%, 93%, and 93%, respectively, and the 1000-hour aging test was performed at 150 °C. After that, the reflectivity of EMC, PPA, and SMC decreased to 70%, 40%, and 88%, respectively, and the reflectivity of the SMC package was optimal.

It is understood that there are only a handful of packaging manufacturers involved in SMC in China, and only a few LED companies such as Simai, Ruifeng Optoelectronics, and Tiandian Optoelectronics have made layouts. SMC will better highlight the value. But in the field of general lighting like lamps, there is no need to use it, and it is not cost-effective."

Regarding the maturity of SMC products, there is no problem at all, and the price/performance ratio is constantly improving. Compared with EMC and PPA, the price/performance ratio is even higher.

As power increases, the cost per watt of SMC will decrease in terms of performance. For example, EMC can do 1 watt, SMC can do 3 watts. Zhang Luhua said frankly, "Through our continuous efforts, the price of SMC will not be much more expensive than EMC, and it will basically be flat, but it will be higher in performance and reliability."

Indeed, if you only look at a 3030, SMC prices are relatively expensive, but an SMC3030 can achieve 3W, and an EMC3030 can achieve less than 2W, comprehensively calculated, SMC has an advantage in price. In other words, from the point of view of the single product, there is no advantage, but it can load higher power, and it is more advantageous in terms of cost performance.

As far as market application is concerned, SMC is mainly used in the field of outdoor lighting, so higher requirements are placed on reliability. Of course, SMC's performance in high temperature and UV resistance is indeed better.
