[Serve technology to deal with hazy days] I heard that haze is becoming more and more rampant? Lenze Lentz is coming!

Lenze, Servo Technology, Air Filters

This hazy day is getting more and more mad, how to arm yourself to deal with the weather that is full of pollution particles? The air filter helps you to avoid PM2.5, and you clean the air. Here, Lenze Lenze servo technology comes in handy. With Lenze servo technology, the air filter output has increased by 70%! So where is the core role? Xiao Bian takes you to learn more about it.

This is a successful case of Lenze Lenz in Germany. The Keilmann Group in Frankfurt, Germany, chose the Lenze servo controller for their new generation of air filter production equipment, achieving a 70% higher output than previous variable frequency drives. This new type of production equipment produces a well-known bag filter that is widely used in air treatment systems. This filter consists of a series of plates of filter material that are cut into a waist curve and bound together. The Lenze servo controller can control the feed and discharge of these materials and can also achieve dynamic positioning control of up to 10 pins per second.

Bag filters are used in 3 to 12 pairs fixed in a frame to form an open shape at one end. This installation greatly increases the surface area, allowing it to remove airborne dust with minimal pressure loss. Its application is quite extensive, including the pharmaceutical industry, medical, paint baking room, clean room and general air conditioning ventilation. The filter material used is usually glass fiber or synthetic material. Regardless of which of these two materials is used, its low density and relatively softness must be guaranteed. This presents a challenge for accurate material handling at different speeds. Taking into account the precise synchronization and positioning requirements of the needles, Keilmann eventually chose the Lenze Lenze servo technology.

The upper and lower lengths of material are pulled from a reel to the sewing area, and the multi-needle stitching station in the sewing area is responsible for sewing them into the fabric at various lengths and then fixing them by hot melt adhesive. The next step is to take the edge by precisely positioning the seam head, cut the length of the filter bag, and send it to the stacking area. The multi-needle sewing station can achieve up to 10 needles per second and the thread length between the two fabrics of the material varies from 20 to 60 mm. In order to ensure that the needle is clean when entering the material and does not tear the sewing station, the entire process needs to ensure accurate synchronization with the movement of the filter material.

In this regard, the Lenze Lenze drive solution uses 9400 series servo controllers, bus connection via CANopen, and synchronization via “electronic axis” software. This solution uses Lenze MCS synchronous servo motors with low inertia and peak torque that are four times higher than conventional motors. MCS synchronous servo motors are no longer combined with conventional planetary gears, but are used in combination with Lenze's GKR bevel gear reducer. The GKR, which resembles a worm gear reducer, is designed based on a bevel gear with an efficiency of 94% or more, hardly wears, and has a very low backlash and is less expensive than a planetary gear design.

To ensure fast data processing, we integrated the positioning system into the Lenze 9400 servo controller. In the cross cutter responsible for dividing the material web into different filter bags, KSL selected the Lenze “flying saw” drive solution as its ready-to-use technology module to achieve a continuous movement of the fabric instead of a buffered start and stop motion. Flying Saw Software is one of the motion modules of the Lenze FAST application software. The application software contains a wide variety of proven technology modules with clear structure and high performance.

Thanks to the Lenze servo system, the KSL FPS300 filter bag system benefits a lot. The initial target for this system was 20m/min, but Lenze Lenze achieved 24m/min, an increase of 70% compared to previous systems, and can achieve 40 filter bags with a length of 600mm per minute. This success story is Lenze's many years of drive and automation expertise and industry experience combined with Keilmann's years of professional experience in nonwovens.
