From May 14 to May 15, 2017, the "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit was held in Beijing. On the eve of the summit forum and on the eve of the summit, governments, localities, and enterprises across the world reached a series of consensus on cooperation and formed a list of results of the Summit Forum. A total of 76 major projects and more than 270 concrete achievements were made.
The “One Belt and One Road†is not only a political cooperation, but also involves international mutual integration in the fields of economy and culture. With this top-level national strategy, what changes will China's manufacturing industry undergo and what kind of development opportunities it will win? ?
Manufacturing industry "goes out" step up
Riding on the policy's east wind, China will further accelerate its pace of "going out of the country."
Xin Guobin, deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out when introducing the work related to the “One Belt and One Road†initiative of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: The first is to strengthen policy communication and take the initiative to tap into the development strategy of the national industrial communications industry along the “One Belt and One Road†policy, carry out policy exchanges, and promote industry standards. System mutual recognition, explore cooperation potential. The second is to improve the service system, establish and improve the inter-departmental working mechanism with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, etc., and establish a cooperation mechanism with the National Development Bank, the Export-Import Bank and other financial institutions, and strengthen the communication with key industry associations and research institutions. The third is to coordinate and guide the industrial mutually beneficial cooperation and actively build a docking platform for international production capacity and equipment manufacturing cooperation. We will use bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms to organize industry associations and enterprises to go abroad and dock and deepen industrial cooperation with countries along the route. The fourth is to promote cooperation in the construction of industrial parks, promote the construction of China-Laos, China-Mongolia cross-border cooperation areas, and promote the construction of overseas industrial cooperation parks such as Zhongbai Industrial Park, Indonesia Qingshan Industrial Park and Zhongta Industrial Park. Fifth, speed up the interconnection and exchange of information and communications.
Xin Guobin said that in the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will further strengthen the guidance of classification, improve service levels, improve the security system, actively expand new space for industrial development, promote deeper industrial cooperation with countries along the “Belt and Road†and achieve win-win development.
Xin Guobin pointed out that the "going out" of China's equipment manufacturing industry has achieved remarkable results. High-speed rail, power equipment, construction machinery, electronic information manufacturing, and ships have all become "new business cards" made in China. Rail transit products have successfully entered the international market. Following the Yawan High-speed Rail, the construction of the China-Lao Railway and high-speed railway has started. The technical level of power equipment is leading internationally. The construction of the first Hualong No. 1 project overseas has progressed smoothly. At the same time, it successfully participated in the construction of the Hinckley Point C nuclear power plant in the UK. High-end products such as construction machinery and ships have been widely used around the world.
“One Belt, One Road†brings convenience to traffic, which means that in the future we will visit the European high-speed rail and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It will no longer be a dream!
Industrial manufacturing upgrade
"Internet +" has become a hot spot for industrial development in recent years. China's manufacturing industry is undergoing transformation and upgrading. The successful implementation of the "One Belt and One Road" strategy has also provided an advantageous boost to the intelligent transformation of China's manufacturing industry. As the host of this summit forum, China has been actively promoting China's manufacturing and supply-side reforms. Industrial manufacturing has revolved around the direction of “Internet+Industry†and “Internet+Manufacturing†to promote “Made in China 2025â€. healthy growth.
As the most important part of industrial manufacturing, the chemical industry has been devoted to the research and development of new technologies and materials in recent years. As the demand for new material markets in China increases year by year, a market of 100 billion yuan will be born in the future. With the influx of capital from various industries into the industry, the heat of the new materials industry has increased, and investment institutions are optimistic about the development prospects of new materials, thus presenting unprecedented new hot spots. At the same time, benefiting from the effects of “disintegration and transformation†and the promotion of many favorable policies in the country, it has gradually become a new target favored by the capital market.
At present, in China, the polymer new material industry is growing at a rate of 10% per year, and the industry is in the best period of opportunity. According to statistics from the China Plastics Processing Industry Association, from 2004 to 2015, China's total plastic output rose from 17.91 million tons to 77.172 million tons. At the same time, the rate of reformation also increased year by year. In 2004, China's plastics modification rate was only 8%. By 2016, China's plastics modification rate was maintained at 19%. It can be seen that the industrial output value has been increasing year by year, and the market demand has also maintained a steady and rapid growth.
Business cooperation has more opportunities
Needless to say, the construction of “One Belt and One Road†will promote cooperation between Chinese manufacturing companies and foreign companies to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
During the upcoming “Belt and Road†International Cooperation Summit Forum, senior vice president of ABB Group and chairman and president of ABB (China) Co., Ltd. Dr. Gu Chunyuan was invited to participate in the “Sino-Swedish Business Cooperation†and the “Sino-Swiss Business Cooperation†sponsored by the Swiss Embassy in China. At the high-level forum on the road of action, we discussed the prospects of Sino-Swiss cooperation under the “One Belt and One Road†with participating guests.
“Sino-Swedish Business Cooperation and Belt and Road Initiative†high-level forum
As a multinational company headquartered in Switzerland, ABB has been involved in the construction of EPC projects in more than 70 countries following the “going out†of Chinese companies. Relying on its business distribution in more than 100 countries around the world and its rich experience in overseas project management, ABB provided consulting, design, engineering, manufacturing and service for more than 400 Chinese companies in 2016 and helped them solve different countries. Differences with regional design standards and industry norms helped them reduce project costs and project risks.
China and Sweden have a long history of cooperation. Switzerland is one of the first European countries to recognize China’s full market economy status and is also the first country to establish an innovative strategic partnership with China. In 2013, China’s President Xi Jinping proposed the “One Belt and One Road†initiative to provide an open and efficient platform for the development of China-Switzerland relations. At the same time, it also brings new opportunities for both companies.
Dr. Gu Chunyuan, senior vice president of ABB Group and chairman and president of ABB (China) Co., Ltd., said: “Under the backdrop of the complex and volatile international situation and increasing uncertainties, the 'One Belt and One Road' initiative has injected new energy into the recovery of the world economy. Improvements in electricity, industry, transportation, and infrastructure will increase global "interconnection and interconnection," and will also bring new opportunities for the development of cooperation between Chinese and foreign companies."
The benefits of the “One Belt and One Road†to China's manufacturing industry are more than that. The opportunities it creates for the manufacturing industry are enormous and continuous. It is believed that under the leadership of the "One Belt and One Road" strategy, China's manufacturing industry will also create more splendor!
