1 Introduction

The vision system is widely used in modern industrial production automation systems, mainly in the fields of drug detection and packaging, printing color detection, integrated circuit production, precision electronic product assembly, intelligent robot identification and navigation. With the popularity of the Internet, modern society has entered the post-PC era, and embedded technology is increasingly closely integrated with people's lives.

The embedded vision system can integrate image acquisition, image processing and display equipment through a USB bus. The cost is relatively low, the size is small, and it can be easily installed on the carrier. Therefore, it is practical to study the embedded vision system. significance.

2 Embedded vision system overall design

The embedded vision system consists of embedded hardware platform, operating system, image acquisition and image display. The block diagram is shown in Figure 1.

The S3C2410X chip is a 16/32-bit RISC embedded microprocessor based on the ARM920T core from Samsung Electronics of South Korea. The chip integrates a TFT-enabled LCD controller, a 3-channel UART controller, and a rich external interface. The MPLL generates a master clock that enables the processor to operate up to 203MHz. This operating frequency allows the processor to easily run WinCE. Operating systems such as Linux and more complex data processing. The chip can meet the design requirements of low cost, high speed and low power consumption, and is very suitable as a hardware platform for embedded vision systems.

Compared with the widely used embedded operating systems such as pSOS, VxWorks, and winCE, the Linux operating system has the advantages of good portability, strong network function, excellent GNU compiler support, and more importantly, open source of Linux. And the advantages of free of charge make the system cost significantly lower, so the Linux operating system is chosen as the software development platform.
