[High-tech LED] Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has released three cool white LED modules with 6 or 12 high-brightness LEDs -- VLPC0601A2, VLPC1201A2J, and VLPC1201A2. Samples are available and mass-produced. The delivery period is six weeks.
According to Vishay, the module uses all InGaN technology LEDs. VLPC0601A2 has 6 LEDs on a 240mmx14mm PCB board with a luminous flux of 870 lumens. The VLPC1201A2J has 12 LEDs on a 240mx14mm PCB board with a luminous flux of 1740 lumens. The VLPC1201A2J is simply divided into two halves, each half being a VLPC1201A2 module. Each module is 120mm x 14mm in size and has 6 LEDs with a luminous flux of 870 lumens.
Vishay pointed out that the VLPC0601A2, VLPC1201A2J and VLPC1201A2 have a color temperature range of 5000K to 7000K, a maximum current of 700mA and a viewing angle of ±80o, which can replace fluorescent lamps in commercial, industrial and residential lighting, as well as backlighting signs and automotive applications.
These devices have a bright white surface with a single-sided PCB on the metal core covered with a layer of copper greater than 0.75 μm. The spacing of the LEDs in the VLPC0601A2 is 40 mm, and the spacing of the LEDs in the VLPC1201A2J and VLPC1201A2 is 20 mm. In addition, the module is available in a color box that is fully compliant with ROHS 2002/95/EC. Vishay says designers can choose the most appropriate PCB and light intensity for their application.
