HappyGiant today released REAL cARds for the Apple ARKit platform on the iPhone and iPad. The app allows you to create personalized messages for friends and family using AR, projecting avatars and objects into the real world with cameras on iOS devices.
Now as a free download app, REAL cARds hopes to grab your heart on this Valentine's Day. With the current content, you can create a cute teddy bear that appears in the real world and assigns it to interact with objects such as hearts, birthday cakes and flowers. Users will also have their own interactions, such as clicking on the cake to blow out the candles before your personalized message appears.
The first AR card is free when you use it, but future cards will be available for $1.99 or $2.99. More seasonal greetings will be added in the next few weeks and months, but there is currently no possible Android ARCore support.
There is no doubt that HappyGiant hopes to get the success of AR applications like Pokémon Go, but when users can send similar messages on the free Snapchat platform, is there still a good AR space?
