According to the latest statistics from the inspection and quarantine bureau of Shunde, in 2010, the export of lamps and lanterns that had been tested reached 30.2611 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 34.16%, setting a record high. The relevant person in charge of the Bureau told reporters yesterday that although the export of lamps and lanterns in Shunde has increased significantly, it is still at the end of the international industrial chain and is more vulnerable to rising labor costs, rising raw material prices, RMB appreciation and technical trade barriers. Due to multiple influences, the export situation in 2011 is still not optimistic.

"Manufacturing in Shunde" gradually accepted by the international community

According to briefings, the lamps and lanterns exports in Shunde area are dominated by general trade, and the exporting countries are all over the world. They also have obvious regional characteristics, mainly in Europe, America, Japan, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Among the top ten export countries, Europe, the United States, Japan, and other developed countries accounted for seven, with an export value of US$14.119 million, accounting for 46.6% of total exports. This shows that "manufactured by Shunde" was accepted by the developed countries. The remaining three countries are the UAE, the Philippines, and Argentina, which represent emerging markets such as the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South America. In the top ten export countries, exports accounted for 57.4% of the total.

According to industry analysts, the sharp increase in exports in 2010 was due firstly to the improvement of the overall economic environment in Europe and the United States in 2010. The previously depressed demand was released. Export companies are mostly small and medium-sized enterprises

Shunde lamps export products mainly include lamp trays, brackets, ceiling lamps, wall lamps, chandeliers, table lamps, floor lamps, spotlights, downlights, outdoor lamps, etc. The overall product structure is simple, the technical content is not high, the industry entry threshold is low, in the international The division of labor in the industrial chain is at the end, and professionals from Shunde Inspection and Quarantine Bureau stated that this is a “fatal injury” to the international market for Shunde lamps and lanterns.

According to reports, most of Shunde's lighting export enterprises are small and medium-sized enterprises, of which the annual export value is less than US$3 million and accounts for about 70% of the total number of enterprises. Most of their products are exported to low-end markets such as the Middle East, Southeast Asia, South America, and Africa. Most of these products do not have product certification, coupled with the frequent price cuts by foreign customers, forcing companies to reduce the cost of raw materials, components, and reduce processes. In addition, a considerable number of foreign customers do not understand the product standard requirements, but require companies to produce according to the specified model. Therefore, these products are prone to safety hazards.

In recent years, due to the multiple influences of human and material costs and exchange rates, these companies have encountered difficulties in the fierce market competition, and most have not established effective quality control systems. Some companies have quality system documents or obtained certifications, but for reasons of cost control, they did not really organize production according to the requirements of the quality system. Inadequate allocation of test equipment, chaos at the production site, unclear zoning, incomplete inspection of inspection posts, insufficient assessment of training for key personnel, and other problems exist. In addition, because they have not established their own industry associations and cannot harmonize the healthy competition among various companies, there are still low-level and repeated competitions.

Proposal to establish a lighting and lighting products industry association

Due to rising labor costs, rising prices of raw materials, appreciation of the renminbi, and barriers to technology trade, some companies actively responded to the embarrassment and managed to upgrade their products. Some reduce the export of low-end products, and actively explore the high-end market.

Because export-oriented low-end products often have a meagre profit and even lose money, more and more lighting export companies are beginning to develop in the high-end market. Because of China's manufacturing advantages, no country or region can replace it. Some enterprises have actively obtained product certifications in Europe, America and Japan, while improving the production environment and labor conditions, and breaking through the technical barriers to trade in developed countries. The products are sold to high-end markets such as Europe, America and Japan; some enhance the research and development of new products, and more design and manufacture of their own patented products, avoiding only the production of customer samples, but only a meager processing fee. At the same time, with the development of energy-saving lamps, more and more companies have begun to develop and produce LED lamps, solar lamps, and electrodeless lamps, which are in line with the development trend of the world's lighting industry; some export lighting companies are no longer satisfied with product production. Improve the added value of products, from single product manufacturing to product design, support, manufacturing and other full-service development.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Shunde Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the situation of the export of lamps and lanterns in Shunde was still not optimistic in 2011. The responsible person suggested that enterprises should pay more attention to management and product upgrading and transformation. On the one hand, it is necessary to benefit from management, and to reduce costs through internal potential exploration, cost control, and increased investment in automation equipment. On the other hand, we will step up product upgrades and transitions to develop more energy-efficient products and mid- to high-end products. At the same time, the lighting and lighting products industry associations should be established as soon as possible to carry out the development. Like Shunde's lamp panel and bracket industry, the industrial chain is complete and complete. The output value accounts for half of the domestic market, and it is entirely possible to unite and avoid low-price and disorderly competition.
